Bullet Journal Ideas

I have always enjoyed making lists, planning everything out ahead of time, and recording it all to help me stay organized. Even back when the only tools I had at my disposal for keeping track of my life were made up of an old spiral notebook and a Bic pen. I remember being especially excited when I was able to upgrade from my simple pen, which was probably lifted from a bank before they added chains to them, to the special Bics that came in all colors.

I still use those pens and at times, I still write in a spiral notebook. My favorite way to stay organized and record my life is with my bullet journal. I love the idea of being able to look back at the year in a colorful and creative way.

Keeping a bullet journal allows you to be as creative as you want with all of life’s events. I have learned over the years that I am at my happiest when I am being creative.

Unfortunately there just isn’t enough time in my schedule to be as creative as I would like to be or as often. Someone has to cook and I don’t think I would feel good about myself if I spent my evenings painting landscapes while my family is having to eat Taco Bell for dinner every night.

In life, you make compromises and I am pretty happy with the amount of time I get to work on my bullet journal. I can pick it up and put it down in between all of the dialogue in my house that starts out with Mom or Honey.

My favorite thing about bullet journaling is seeing what other people are drawing, sketching, and documenting in their journals. My favorite bullet journaler is my daughter. All of these pictures are taken from her bullet journal. It’s too cute not to share!

It’s fun to see her get excited about a new month because that means she gets to design her bullet journal’s monthly spread. Seeing some of the cute things she comes up with inspires me to be more creative.

Keeping track of upcoming doctor appointments and campaigns that I am working on has become so much easier to handle. I always have my calendar with me as long as I have my bullet journal. I have always been a pen and paper kind of girl, I have no use for those google calendars.

My friends and family may actually get their birthday cards on time now that I am keeping a bullet journal. I love the idea of keeping this kind of information easily accessible.

Keeping a bullet journal has also helped me keep track of my school work and when I was tasked to write an essay about proper studying habits, I included the benefits of bullet journaling. I did very well on that assignment and I really do owe it to bullet journaling.

The holidays are my favorite time to be creative and I like this November bullet journal spread with bears surrounded by fall foliage. I think my favorite bullet journal idea is this cute Halloween themed October page below, I love those pops of color.

Do you keep a bullet journal? I would love to hear about what inspires you and how bullet journaling has helped you stay organized or how it has inspired your creativity.
