Start by adding in the flour, sugar, and butter. Stir ingredients together after each new addition. After all three ingredients are added in, stir well.
After the previous ingredients are evenly combined, add in salt, vanilla, and milk.
Stir everything together until completely combined. You should be able to mix everything together using a spoon. I always think simple is best, there is no need to get the mixer involved in this recipe. Fewer dishes and less fuss is the way to go when creating something so easy like this cookie dough.

After everything is mixed together well, add in the chocolate chips, stirring to make sure it is mixed in evenly. I use mini chocolate chips and although there is sugar in this recipe, my favorite chocolate chips are the sugar-free kind. They are the perfect bold chocolate flavor for this cookie dough but who doesn’t love a regular chocolate chip?

How Long Can I Store Edible Cookie Dough?
This recipe is best if eaten immediately, but if you make double and want to have this delicious edible cookie dough more than one night, I would eat it within a week. Be sure to store in an airtight container, this recipe may last longer if stored in the refrigerator but it never lasts long after creation in my home.

Another great way to make this chocolate chip cookie dough recipe more appealing to chocolate lovers is to add in a teaspoon of chocolate syrup. Add in a little bit more flour if needed to fix the consistency, ensuring the final product has that cookie dough texture we all know and love.
You may also enjoy omitting the chocolate chips or adding in peanut butter cups along with a teaspoon of creamy peanut butter. This is my favorite way to enjoy any dessert, slathered in peanut butter. Yum!
