Is Cookie Dough Safe to Eat Raw?
Edible cookie dough is the perfect treat for those of us who have found ourselves eating an entire tube of cookie dough in the past. This edible cookie dough recipe is not only delicious but it is a safe alternative to traditional cookie dough which normally contains eggs.
Some people have a hard time eating raw all-purpose but this is an easy fix. It may not be a bad idea to take this quick and easy precaution in case you also have a sensitive stomach. Once all of your ingredients are ready, you can begin making your edible cookie dough. It is so easy to do and I always have these ingredients on hand so this recipe gets made a lot at my house.
Start by adding in the flour, sugar, and butter. Stir ingredients together after each new addition. After all three ingredients are added in, stir well.

Stir everything together until completely combined. You should be able to mix everything together using a spoon. How Long Can I Store Edible Cookie Dough?
This recipe is best if eaten immediately, but if you make double and want to have this delicious edible cookie dough more than one night, I would eat it within a week. Be sure to store in an airtight container, this recipe may last longer if stored in the refrigerator but it never lasts long after creation in my home.
It’s that good!
Variations on this Recipe
This recipe makes enough for a satisfying single serving but if you want to make more, this recipe doubles very easily. If you prefer your edible cookie dough recipe to be chocolate, add in a couple of teaspoons of cocoa and a little bit more milk until it reaches the perfect consistency.
Another great way to make this chocolate chip cookie dough recipe more appealing to chocolate lovers is to add in a teaspoon of chocolate syrup. Add in a little bit more flour if needed to fix the consistency, ensuring the final product has that cookie dough texture we all know and love.
You may also enjoy omitting the chocolate chips or adding in peanut butter cups along with a teaspoon of creamy peanut butter. This is my favorite way to enjoy any dessert, slathered in peanut butter. Yum!
Who else thinks peanut butter makes everything better? I can’t be the only one!
