This slow cooker venison chili is the perfect dinner option on a cold evening. Just dump the ingredients into your slow cooker and enjoy an easy dinner that satisfies a crowd.
Whenever we have company during the Fall and Winter, we make this Venison Chili in the Slow Cooker. It’s the perfect dinner to make when you don’t have a lot of time or when you have a lot of people to feed.
My dad came to visit us this past weekend to help my husband partially roof our house since the last guy we hired couldn’t fix the problem.
It’s nice to have a professional in the family when you just can not find a company to do the job right. I guess when I think about it, I am not the only DIYer in my family, my dad is the OG DIYer. He did a lot of roofing jobs in his day and even owned his own roofing company when we lived in Virginia.
My husband used to do roofing professionally too but this particular job required the one thing he had not learned, replacing a partial roof. Apparently, there is a big difference between putting on a new roof and only replacing one area, I had no idea and apparently neither did any of the companies we had hired to fix it. Thankfully my dad made the 7-hour drive out here from Terre Haute, Indiana to help us fix our roof.
He arrived Thursday night and we really had no idea what time he would actually get here so it worked out well that we had a meal cooking in the slow cooker. This way my daughter was able to eat when she was ready and it was still hot when my dad arrived, I love using my slow cooker.
Making this Venison Chili is so easy because once you brown your meat you just pour the rest of your ingredients into a slow cooker and let it cook.
It really is that easy to serve up a hearty and delicious meal that would feed a crowd!
That is why this Venison Chili is my go-to meal when I have company coming over or when we want to eat leftovers for the next couple of days. Sometimes we half this recipe to enjoy it on a busy weeknight or enjoy venison chili lunches throughout the weekend.
Sometimes I think we get visitors just because everyone loves this venison chili recipe so much but we don’t mind sharing, there is plenty to go around.

There are lots of hunters in the family, so I’ve had venison in lots of ways, but not chili. I’ll have to give it a try.
